'Backlogged' tolls may appear on LeeWay bills
July 11, 2018

LeeWay customers will begin seeing backlogged tolls for out-of-county trips.

LeeWay customers with out-of-county toll trips in June and July are now seeing those trips posted to their accounts as tolling entities clear the backlogged transactions caused by a SunPass outage. The entities are Lee County, the Central Florida Expressway Authority and Florida Turnpike Enterprises (part of Florida Department of Transportation). Transactions are listed on customers' bills by the toll road that was used.

Customers may see multiple transactions or a larger amount charged to their credit cards over the next 30 days. Customers who have out-of-county usage and replenish their LeeWay prepaid accounts by check or one-time credit card payments are encouraged to closely monitor their accounts.

Charges for toll trips for Lee County transponder-holders on Lee County bridges were not affected by the outage.

Customers should contact the LeeWay Service Center at 239-533-9297 with any questions.
